Amarenco conducted its initial stakeholder characterisation and materiality assessment in 2021, leading to the definition of Amarenco’s ESG strategy and 2030-2050 vision.
– In 2024, we collaborated with other companies of the renewable energy sector, within the “La Plateforme Verte” working group, to define the material topics for the sector. Amarenco employees and directors rated the impacts, risks and opportunities identified. 23 material topics have been identified for the sector.
At the same time, we have initiated a double materiality assessment (DMA) process, that will lead to identify our material topics in 2025.
– As part of this process, we reviewed the complete list of stakeholders, their interactions, and organised numerous workshops with internal staff.
– In 2025, Amarenco established a list of 200 IROs (Impacts, Risks, Opportunities) through an internal working group, external consultancy and consultation with internal stakeholders.
– Then we had the IROs rated by internal stakeholders representing each area of expertise at Amarenco
– Based on these ratings, Amarenco set the materiality threshold for risks/opportunities and for impacts. For risks and opportunities, the criteria evaluated are: magnitude and likelihood of occurrence. For impacts, the criteria evaluated are: scale, scope, irreversibility, which together constitute severity, and likelihood of occurrence.
– By the end of 2025, Amarenco finalised its double materiality analysis with the creation of the double materiality matrix, highlighting the material issues at ESRS level and significant topics according to a company-specific classification, aligning as closely as possible with our internal organisation and facilitating the transition to action.
– In 2026, Amarenco will further examine the material topics and will roll out a project to encourage team ownership of those topics
– Within a two-to-three-year timeframe, Amarenco plans to repeat the double materiality analysis, including consultation of internal stakeholders, for an even more comprehensive exercise, although it will remain on a voluntary basis.
This exercise enables Amarenco to determine the company’s material topics based on a comprehensive and collaborative analysis. The work carried out with the teams in 2026 will determine the topics still to be addressed, guiding the company’s strategic priorities at the ESG level.
